It’s been three months since I started this new adventure of being a mommy blogger, and the truth is that it's allowing me to meet a lot of interesting people with whom to share many interests and ideas… in a country where you hear the news and get depressed, where they only talk about the crisis, corruption, and how bad everything is, where the star phrase is “with what’s going on”… it's a pleasure to connect every day to a space where I find a lot of people with dreams, projects, concerns, ideas, with a desire to do things and change what they don't like… with enthusiasm, with strength, and with a positive and constructive spirit… so yes, for that alone and beyond the awards, creating this blog has already been a success… thank you all for helping me keep dreaming!!!
And many thanks to Luz Rodríguez from the blog Turn off the TV, we're going to… for granting me the Liebster Award.
The Liebster Blog Award for bloggers is given with the aim of promoting small blogs. The award has some conditions: - Name and thank the person who granted you the award - Answer the eleven questions they ask you - Grant the award to eleven other blogs you like and that are just starting - Formulate eleven questions for the bloggers you award to answer - Visit the blogs that have been awarded along with yours - Inform the bloggers of their awards So here are the questions with my answers:
Why did you decide to create a blog and when did you start?
Three months ago I published my first post, and the truth is that it has been one of the best decisions I've made lately. For me, it's an escape, a way to share the things I'm discovering about topics that interest me, and a means to share information with other parents who, like me, are concerned about giving our children a quality education…
What does having a blog bring you?
Mainly, it keeps me motivated and busy with the things that truly matter to me…
Which post on your blog has been the most successful? What do you attribute it to?
The post where I talk about the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in children… I think it’s a topic that generates a lot of concern; many parents are worried about instilling these values in their children….
Do you use social media?
A lot. I'm on Facebook, and also on Twitter and Pinterest.
What does education mean to you?
There is no greater responsibility than that of shaping a little person who is just beginning to live. This responsibility helps me grow every day and want to constantly learn… to give them a positive and value-based education, to enhance and develop their abilities and talents, to give them tools and resources to be happy… I also believe that the best way to learn things is through experience, by putting them into practice, hence my motto "learning by doing." Children need to experiment and experience things for themselves, they need to play, and a person can be educated and trained while having fun and enjoying themselves… stories, for example, can be a fantastic tool to transmit values, and there are many activities that parents can use to foster teamwork, effort, the spirit of overcoming challenges, resilience to failure, commitment to the environment, love for art and nature, their social skills… I also think it's very important to educate them emotionally, to teach them to manage their emotions, and to self-regulate them… I believe that a large part of the secret to their future happiness lies there.
Have you experienced any significant events through the blog?
I have discovered very interesting people who have very good blogs… the experience of feeling connected to other people who have similar interests to yours and with whom you can share ideas and experiences is already very important to me…
Where do you get your inspiration to write from?
The truth is that it's quite easy for me because in the blog I talk about things I'm discovering myself and that I think might also be interesting and useful for other parents…. The common thread is my children's education…
What have you learned personally or professionally in the last year?
That it's worth pursuing your dreams, at least trying… to try to shed our fears and fight for what we truly believe is worthwhile… and that life doesn't make much sense without doing so…
What is your favorite famous quote?
I strongly agree with Albert Einstein's quote "If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is useless." It summarizes many of the things I've discovered lately, the need to foster the best in each person, not to judge everyone by the same standard, to give our children the tools to bring out the best in themselves…
What advice would you give people about blogging?
If you have a certain desire to write and share ideas, don't stop doing it; it's a fantastic way to communicate with other people who share your interests, to exchange experiences and ideas….
Almost all of us who have a blog write about what we truly like or what motivates us. How would you explain to someone the importance of having a vocation for something, of pursuing dreams…?
I believe we should all start by getting to know ourselves… many people don't know what they like, what motivates them, they don't feel they have a vocation for anything and simply let themselves be carried away by social conditioning… and in this sense, I believe parents can help our children a lot by inviting them to try many different things from a young age, by discovering new worlds, new hobbies, new pastimes… so they can get to know themselves, so they can discover what truly passionate them, what moves them from within and drives them to dedicate all the necessary hours to that activity…. I would tell them to make an effort to know themselves first, to know what motivates them, what they like, what their dream is… and from there, to shake off their fears and fight to achieve that dream, so they can live the life they deserve… to be happy!
And the blogs that I believe deserve the Liebster award are:
