We resolve your questions:
What are Talent Cards?
Talent Cards are sets of cards that create spaces for communication within the family. They are designed for adults and children to converse and help to:
- Improve communication at home
- Gain confidence and mutual understanding
- Strengthen the emotional bond between parents and children
- Develop important skills such as emotional intelligence, critical thinking, creative thinking, narrative skills, and positive thinking.
How are Talent Cards used?
It's very simple to play with Talent Cards. You draw a card and start a conversation based on the suggested topic. Together, we decide who starts speaking. If we notice that the child is struggling to respond, we will help them get started. It's very important to LISTEN to others and also be willing to share and explain our idea, story, experience, emotion, etc.
These are topics brought to the table to spark conversations. It's not about answering them as quickly as possible and moving on to the next, but rather about each one bringing out opinions, feelings, ways of seeing life, experiences, ideas, etc. It's very important not to judge the opinions of others; we should simply listen attentively.
How many versions of Talent Cards are there and what differentiates them?
We currently have 12 versions of Talent Cards on the market, each with a different purpose:
- Conversa (Converse): To get to know each other better.
- Emociónate (Get Emotional): To express our emotions as a family and work on emotional intelligence.
- Imagina (Imagine): To develop imagination.
- Reflexiona (Reflect): To develop critical thinking and listen to one's inner voice.
- Empatiza (Empathize): To develop empathy and put ourselves in someone else's shoes.
- Inventa (Invent): To develop creative thinking.
- Valora (Value): To instill positive values in children and adolescents.
- Positiviza (Positivize): To train positive thinking as a family.
- Cuenta (Tell): To develop storytelling skills and creativity.
- Confía (Trust): To improve self-esteem.
- Sociabiliza (Socialize): To develop social skills.
- Lee (Read): To foster a love of reading.
For what ages are Talent Cards recommended?
Conversa, Emociónate, Imagina are for ages 4 to 99
Reflexiona, Empatiza e Inventa are for ages 7 to 99
Valora, Positiviza y Cuenta are for ages 5 to 99
The minimum age is a guideline and will also depend on the child's vocabulary level. In any case, we may need to explain some things to them so that they can participate and thus improve their vocabulary and oral expression.
There is no age limit because they are designed for adults and children to converse.
Are Talent Cards suitable for teenagers?
They are undoubtedly suitable! Adolescence is a stage in which, generally, it is harder for them to open up, and with Talent Cards, it will be easier for them to tell us about their way of seeing life, their emotions, their experiences, their ideas and thoughts, etc. because, being in a game format, they will do it in a natural, flowing way...
So, almost without realizing it, we will be conversing and creating a stronger bond with them. It is also a stage in which you can talk about many things and delve into them... So don't hesitate, if you have teenagers at home, Talent Cards are also for them!
Why did I start Talent Cards?
There is no set order for starting to use Talent Cards. I would recommend that you focus primarily on the purpose of each of the versions we have and start with the one that best suits what you want to achieve, always taking into account the recommended minimum age.
What languages are the Talent Cards in?
Currently, we have all versions of Talent Cards in Spanish, and Conversa, Emociónate, and Imagina are also available in Catalan. We plan to translate them into English soon, hopefully!
How are the Talent Cards packaged?
At Talent Development, we pay great attention to the packaging of Talent Cards and every detail of them. If you purchase them on Talentina's official website, which is this one, you will notice a great difference compared to other reference websites. They will arrive ready to be given as a gift and you will love them 🙂
